Thrift Store - Did you know?
The Salvation Army Thrift Store might be your new favourite store.
Shopping at the Thrift Store is not just for those in need who are looking to make the most of their money
or a store for those who are trying to find a great deal on some high-quality items.
The Thrift Store is all of that and so much more because there is something for everyone.
If you haven't shopped with us lately, we would love to see you!
If you have, we look forward to serving you again soon!
When you donate to the Thrift Store in Parry Sound you are supporting
the local community and many families in need.
Your donated items might be the couch, table, plates, toys or clothes that make a difference in their lives.
Or the sale of your donation to others provides funds to run programs through our local church congregation and
Community & Family services to change our community one family at a time.
So your donation provides food in the food bank, a warm bed to sleep on in an emergency, basic personal items for
families displaced in an emergency or food through our street van on a Friday night.
When The Salvation Army receives items that are unsellable it takes away from the local community.
Items received that cannot be sold in store or salvaged through a recycling program must be sent to the dump
which takes valuable financial resources away from the community and those in need.
In 2016, The Thrift Store in Parry Sound spent over $40,000.00 in dumping fees to remove items that were
not in sellable condition which includes broken, stained, defective and unusable items.
For your reference, items that cannot be sold at the Thrift Store include:
-old style, tube TVs
- Baby cribs
- Sofa Beds
- Chemicals, paint, tires
- Industrial Items
- Unsellable Items
- Broken Items
