Lts. Scott & Cathy Allen - Corps Officers (Pastors)

Scott & Cathy hail from Kitchener, Ontario.  They became high school sweethearts in Wingham, Ontario, during grade 10.  They were married 5 years later.  In 2017 they will celebrate 28 years of marriage.  Before entering the Salvation Army's College for Officer Training, Scott and Cathy attended the Salvation Army Kitchener Community Church for 17 years.
Scott attended Conestoga College in Kitchener, and graduated with a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology.  He moved up the ladder at his company, and when he resigned to enter the College for Officer Training, he was part owner of the company.  Scott loves to play golf, baseball and hockey.  His favourite teams are the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs and The Toronto Argonauts!
Cathy was a nurse for 13 years.  She ran a home daycare for 10 years and has been blessed to volunteer at the Salvation Army Community and Family services in Kitchener, Ontario for the last 8 years before entering training college.
Scott & Cathy’s call to Officership began several years ago, where they both felt God's Call, but did not communicate to each other about their feelings.  In 2014, there was a Salvation Army territorial congress in Mississauga, Ontario, and when the appeal time came in one of the services, they went forward to answer God's call to become Salvation Army Officers.  Scott and Cathy have been blessed with 3 sons: Matthew, 20 (who lives with Scott and Cathy), Joshua, 24 and Christopher, 26.

Dennis Miner - CSM

Dennis was born and raised in Parry Sound having been a part of the community for 70 years. Dennis has attended Rainbow Country Church for the past 43 years and served in many roles from his work with youth, to offering support in the courts, to his dedicated service to the community on the street ministry.  Dennis was recognized for his impact on the community of Parry Sound by being named "Citizen of the year" in January 2017.

Testimony: I came to the Lord at about the age of 13 but unfortunately I fell away.  For the next 31 years I wrestled with the Holy Spirit for control of my life.  When I made the re-commitment of my life to the Lord I got involved in ministry with The Salvation Army helping with their Sunday School, Corps Cadets and other programs. Now looking back I can say that over these past 43 years I have enjoyed the fellowship of God and fellowship of other Christians.

Gail Galley - Director of Pastoral Care

Gail was born in Chapleau, Ontario and has lived in the Parry Sound area for 42 years.  She attends the corps with her husband Dan and has been active in ministry throughout her years as a soldier of The Salvation Army in Parry Sound.  Gail was added to our Mission Board in the role of Program Director in June 2016.

Testimony: "A casserole prepared and delivered to my door by someone I didn't know;
An invitation to a Bible study where I knew two of the people, but even them not very well;
And a simple prayer asking God if He was there, to let me know the Bible was true and if so to please let me know. And God spoke through all of them giving me the answer to that simple prayer. I can only describe it by saying it was like a magnificent light bulb was being switched on and that light flooded my heart, my mind and my soul with absolute wonder and joy. I remember proclaiming in a loud voice, "It's true! It's true!" and running down the hill after study to tell my husband the good news which I continued to do throughout the study. And thus began my journey with Christ.  We were encouraged by an Evangelist from The Salvation Army to come to the corps for their meeting and when we did the people at the Parry Sound Corps welcomed us with kindness and friendship and we have been adherents and soldiers at the Corps ever since.  Needless to say my life has never been the same since that encounter when God confirmed His truth with me. Unequivocally, I can proclaim that I have no life worth living without having Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour."
